testimonials

"We would like to thank SCH and SES for giving the best education to our children. Right from their early years at SCH, our kids were taught righteousness, manners & etiquette, independence and also cooperation. All of which lay an important foundation to shaping their characters.

At SES, the small class size, excellent curriculum and well-qualified teachers & staff all but encourage an optimal learning process. Ashley's recent accomplishment of scoring an A* on her Extended Math IGCSE paper was actually an SES' achievement as well! Having tried a few other schools prior, we believe that only at SES do our children really maximize their learning potentials."

Christina & Rudi Tjahjadi, Indonesia, School Year 2000 - present.

“When we arrived in Surabaya almost 9 years ago, my biggest worry was our children. But when I visited the Montessori school, I had no doubts. Mara, 3 years at the time was immediately at home. Within 4 months she was performing Christmas Carols, in English! I have also always applauded the children receiving a delicious home cooked meal every day and with this, appropriate table manners are taught.

Mara enjoyed all Montessori years thoroughly. At first she was accommodated by her older peers but soon she was the one comforting others, and her younger siblings. The gentle way of helping the younger ones, I still see in all my three children today.

In 2008 we had to say goodbye to the Montessori school as Mara, Mienard and Zitha are now enrolled in the Surabaya European School. The number of children in the classes is not overwhelming and there is always room for individual teacher approach, if needed. The teachers are very approachable and keen to answer any of your questions. My children love it there; they have many friends, and exciting stories to tell when they come home. They also adore the fact that there are various sports offered as school activities.

We can only recommend the schools as one of the best!”

testimonials

“Surabaya European School provides my children with top quality British education. The committed teachers are excellent at evaluating the skills and knowledge of the children, and the academic efforts are aimed at the individual child’s level and progression rate. This approach means that no child gets left behind, and that all children are encouraged to reach the maximum of their potential.”

Lusiana and Flemming Larsen, Denmark/Indonesia 2001-present.

testimonials

Over the last 9 years our three daughters, Shannon (12), Lauren (10) and Zoe (8), have progressed through the Montessori and British school systems at SCH and SES respectively.

We feel very fortunate as all of our children have flourished under the guidance of the well-trained and highly motivated caring teachers the schools has employed over the years. They have excelled in all aspects of development as the school concentrates on the academic, physical, mental as well as the social well-being of its students. In particular, we like the fact the girls get to mix with other children from a wide variety of nationalities.

The small classes and a high ratio of teachers to children ensure they get the attention they require in all aspects of their education. Consistent, constructive feedback from the teachers also allows us, as parents, to follow up and support the children’s development at home. In addition, they can select from a wide range of after-school activities every afternoon, which are aimed specifically at their age groups.

We have no hesitation in recommending the Montessori School SCH and Surabaya European School as we are in no doubt that we have given our girls the best possible start in life.

Stephen McSkimming, New Zealand 2002- present.
