Mt. Bromo Trip-2010 |
| |
This has been secondary’s second day-trip to Mt. Bromo, situated in Tengger. After a long journey on the bus and a packed lunch at a small restaurant, children were eager to explore the volcano. Students rode on horseback to reach the site and then climbed 249 steps to arrive at the rim of the crater. A spectacular view just on the crater was witnessed, and soon students were throwing in offerings. An exciting trip indeed!

The Pines - 2010 |
| |
The students in year 3 and 4 spent an exciting day at the Pines. All activities were set in a lush outdoor environment amongst tall trees. Highlights were the Flying Fox and the Tarzan Jump (with children crawling on spider web like ropes to make their way to a long rope from which they swung down).
Children found out that having confidence in yourself and teamwork were very important.
The exhausting day eventually came to and end and the children walked onto the bus with smiles on their faces.

Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ was presented by students of SES, a performance which was applauded by parents and siblings. Lead roles were undertaken by the students in secondary, who performed with great style and enthusiasm. The primary children’s charming singing and dances impressed our guests and was extremely entertaining.
Special thanks to the backstage crew, who spent many hours painting the impressive settings.

Summer Fair 2010 - Sensational Sunday |
| |
A day of enjoyment was held at SES’s annual Summer Fair. Students did an excellent job of entertaining our guests. Games ranging from football shooting to treasure hunts were prepared by students of the whole school. Prizes were to be won and stalls containing accessories were gathered around the site. Guests used coupons to participate in games, and by the end of the day game hosts’ coupon containers were over-flowing!
A true ‘summer day’ was experienced, the rain held off and instead the sun made the atmosphere much more exciting.
Following two hours of thrilling games, students, parents, teachers and friends were all eager to watch the ‘Talent Show’. Talents included magic tricks, swave-board demonstrations, a short play, singing and more. All the performances were applauded and admired. Next, Mr. John revealed the ‘Raffle Ticket’ winners. A variety of prizes: gift vouchers, shoes, computer speakers and much more from the ‘Lucky Draw’ were awarded to proud winners.
The purpose of this event was to raise money for The Tulip Foundation, as was last year’s. ‘SES’ Summer Fair’ served as a thrilling and successful Sunday for all!

Community Service |
| |
As community service is a very important part of school life, secondary students go on regular visits to a local orphanage.
There, they read, work on puzzles with elementary children, play with toddlers and take care of babies.
